Dr. Aiko Voigt is an Associate Research Scientist at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. He studies how clouds shape the atmospheric circulation and thereby define regional impacts of global climate change. Before coming to New York City in 2013, Voigt worked at the Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique in Paris and the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, from where he obtained his PhD in climate science in 2010. He is originally from Berlin and graduated from Humboldt University Berlin in 2007 with a degree in physics.
